-Lodging Information-

** Note- the old Days Inn is now the newly renovated "Sideways Inn", check it out now **

Lots of hotels in the Santa Ynez Valley. Most of the hotels are within walking/biking distance of the ride start at Flying Flags RV Resort on Avenue of the Flags and Highway 246. RV, tent and camping cottage sites are available at Flying Flags RV Resort. Reserve soon to get your spot or camping cabin with all the amenities.  Hotel prices seem to be less expensive in Buellton, such as the NEW Sideways Inn which backs up directly to our ride start and Quality Inn and Pea Soup Andersons. There is also a campground with beautiful RV and grassy tent sites. Experience says reserve soon because weekend crowds do arrive during the fall season. So feel free to explore and find a hotel that suits your taste and budget. You can click on this link: Buellton Lodging Link, to get more specific information.

-Dining Choices-

The Santa Ynez Valley is full of fine dining choices for breakfast, dinner and lunch. Obviously, the favorite among cyclists is Ellen's Pancake House for breakfast. Noted as the "place to go" when in Buellton for active bikers like ourselves and those training for the Tour of California. Dinner choices abound within walking distance or a short drive. Friday's dinner will be at Flying Flags RV Resort for BBQ food at 6:00pm.  Here is the "2018 BBQ Menu." Reservations will be needed, so get ready to register ONLINE with your intentions of riding in the activity and if you plan to eat with the group by TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17th. On Saturday the plan is to eat at Flying Flags RV Resort, in Buellton at 6:00pm. Pizza will be provided, bring your own drinks and lawn chair.

- Fun Local Activities -

Tired of biking or want to do something different during Lure of the Grapes? If so think so trying some of these fun local activities:

  • Hiking
  • Wine tasting
  • Lavendar farm
  • Miniture horses
  • Solvang shopping

- Weather -

We've experienced every extreme. Generally the temperatures are warm and beautiful. However, you will definitely want to check the weather forecast to see if there is potential for early rains, fog, chilly mornings etc. Since Buellton is more inland than much of our riding in Coastal Ventura County, it is normal to have more extreme temperature swings from cold (as defined in Southern California) morning to hot afternoon.
